Hi, where can i read about index error correction code? The lecture presentations just say "on board". I couldnt come to that lecture and there is nothing to learn from in the presentation….

You can find more information in the pdf that can be found next to the presentation of lecture #26.
they dont really explain the code.
They say bitwise XOR on active indexes. What does that mean?
if there is 1 on index 2 and 3 and 5 then i do 010 XOR 011 XOR 101?
And according to them
"The length of EC is be equal to the number of bits required to represent an index <= k".
Then if i dont know the length on the end, how can i decode later? or is it always k?
and how do i check for errors/know in which bit the error is? how does decoding and error correction work here in general?
All of this is not explained anywhere
