should the function clean work on any given picture or just the given one?

Good question, dor.
The clean function should be tailored for the specific image of that exercise (Michal's favorite band's name).
On other images it may or may not denoise effectively.
The general problem of effectively denoising any given image is obviously unsolvable, since you can always create a "bad case" image for any specific denoising method.
Sometimes, when we limit ourselves to some specific type of images (e.g., MRI), we can devise a general method that works quite well for most cases.
