An example with n=3 and k=2.

Suppose the vectors we choose are 100 and 010.

The span includes 4 vectors: 000 100 010 110

The minimum distance is 1.

Add and perform mod on each bit separately.

001 + 011 =

0+0 %2 =0

0+1 %2 = 1

1+1 %2 = 0

together giving you 010.

I suppose this is considered a 'linear span' because each 'coordinate' is on a 'different axis' or somesuch.

Maybe if you think of this as addition of the vector (0,0,1) and the vector (0,1,1) and not addition of binary numbers it makes more sense (this is just a guess here, not really sure).

1. Do you consider a vector like (0,0,0) to be in the vector SPAN?

2. is it OK to use the extremely popular Matrix class in the implementation of this question?

2) You can use the Matrix class of course, but I am not sure it is really needed.
