I will try to help with the .whl files (last week there were still .msi or .exe files available via this link).
In order to install .whl files (called python "wheels") you should use pip.
pip is usually part of python 3.4, but for earlier versions of python you'll have to install it.
Where is it located?
pip should be found in "Scripts" directory in your python directory (which is the directory containing python.exe).
If PIP is not there you should install it.
download the following file named get_pip.py from this url: get-pip.py. Open the file and run it.
pip is now installed.
Once you have pip, download the relevant .whl for PILLOW from the following url: http://www.lfd.uci.edu/~gohlke/pythonlibs/#pillow.
Go to the directory in which it is located and open command prompt.
<your_full_path_to_Scripts_dir>\pip3.exe install pillow
pillow will be installed.
(I am not sure whether we actually need to follow all the steps here, please correct me if some of them are redundant)
